My kidneys were fine until my body started warning me.

My kidneys were fine until my body started warning me.

I'd tell you that today in a review about kidneys; three years ago I would have burst out in laughter at the thought. I was a healthy 41 school teacher living in Phoenix, Arizona and I felt as though I was fit enough. I was not over weight, and I did not live a high life style; I exercised regular and was never ever late for work. The only thing I seemed to have failed was living with very high blood pressure, and this continued to put the doctor warning my about severe impact of chronic hypertension on the kidneys on my nerves as I always felt, " that only happened to others".

And I was WRONG! The first noticeable symptom was when I began to see morning swelling on my face and at night feet were so puffy that it felt as though they had grown over-night after I was working on my feet the whole day as a school teacher. This continued to be compounded by an ever-present and yet not understandable fatigue despite sleeping 8 hours, and most common headaches that I dismissed as the result of my age and the work that I do.

A regular check-up confirmed what I already suspected.

The test report on my kidney function was concerning.

Driving home I did not talk for the whole journey and the only search on Google was on how to reverse kidney damage. The search brought out so many websites, videos and Karma Ayurveda Reviews USA. None of them promised miracles; the stories of fellow patients like myself did tell of how their lives have changed and some were inspiring others were a mixture of sorrow, and then an upsurge of hope that filled my mind. After talking it over with my husband I booked an appointment with them.

During my first meeting with them I was shocked; it was not just my reports but they showed keen interest on my daily life like the quantity of water I consumed, the length of sleep, my mental state as a result of my work stress and any missed meals. Not any doctor before asked me to put all these things together.

I decided to combine their natural, Ayurvedic treatments with the existing medical approach. The prescribed diets prescribed to me included specific information about what to eat, and what to strictly avoid, accompanied with herbs and a changing lifestyle which I had to carry out with absolute dedication although seemingly simple. The first month was tough as I had had processed foods and salt in every meal and so abstaining required more than just my effort, but soon my body began responding.

Six weeks later I could sleep for only half an hour before getting on the couch and waking up to only realize how the immense fatigue was draining me out was gone. My husband confessed that I had regained my bubbly persona and that he found me talking excessively now that my energy was back. Swollen feet became history, I experienced increased digestion, and instead of taking as many as five snooze alarms, I was always up even before the alarm set at my bedroom wall.

Most importantly was the change it brought on my mental being; initially after being diagnosed I had been scared of the outcome of every single blood test but with their natural way of treating me, I began learning to control my thoughts to what matters and not worry unnecessarily about what had already been done. Their continuous care and support also was impeccable. Even though I live in Arizona they were more than willing to take my appointment with any timing flexibility and patiently answer all questions, even when I questioned their effectiveness. They always stressed on a positive mindset, a commitment on my part, that made me feel they were a firm ally rather than just the next business in a city teeming with hospitals and clinics, and that trust helped me the most.

Now six months later, looking back on the changes in my health, I am not at all surprised. My diet improved drastically, I work out daily, stress is something of the past, sleep has drastically improved, but most importantly I no longer live in fear. We often assume that diseases are not that dangerous if they only have specific signs, or that age matters but I have learned the hard way that that is just a myth; my high blood pressure was continuously taking toll on my kidneys until they showed me that they had been crying out for help for a very long time.
